Our guide, Neal Roberts, was absolutely amazing. After introductions it took about 30 seconds for Neal to become part of our family. It was as if he was a long list brother. His knowledge of history and his own history of teaching school made his delivery of facts very smooth and easy to understand. He was by far the best guide I have ever encountered.

Our family was visiting Boston for the first time and we were lucky enough to book with Neal R. for a three hour walking tour. Neal is incredibly informed, has a great sense of humor and created a fun, casual atmosphere that went at our pace. The three hours flew by, and easily could have stayed for longer. Neal also provided tailored recommendations for the rest of our visit, which was super helpful! If you’re considering booking a walking tour, skip the large crowd and book a private tour with Neal. 10/10 experience, 5 stars, highly recommend booking a tour with him!

Our tour guide Neal is a former history teacher. His students were lucky to have someone who could bring history alive and make it captivating, because that’s what he did for my brother and me in our combined walking and riding tour. He debunked a lot of myths (the battle of Bunker Hill wasn’t on Bunker Hill), and he gave a thorough introduction to Boston and all it has to offer. In short, take his tour. You won’t be disappointed.

We had an outstanding private Freedom Trail tour with Cindy and could not recommend her more highly. She is an incredible storyteller who brings Boston’s history vividly to life. Instead of just pointing out landmarks, she shared fascinating stories about the people and events that shaped the American Revolution, making every stop engaging and memorable. It also happened to be an extremely windy day, and Cindy went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. At one point she even guided us to a nearby Marshall’s so we could grab sweatshirts and hats before continuing the tour, a small gesture that really showed how thoughtful and attentive she is with her guests. Cindy’s knowledge was remarkable, and she answered every question with enthusiasm and depth. She paced the tour perfectly, allowing us time to take in the historic sites while weaving together the larger story of Boston and the birth of the nation. If you’re visiting Boston and want more than just a walk past historic buildings, book a tour with Cindy. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip.

Neal created a custom tour for our group tailored to our interests and Sean D was an amazing guide. Our tour landed on one of the coldest days of the year and Sean found a way to make sure everyone had fun and was able to stay warm. We were stranded in the city due to weather and had to make lots of last minute changes and they were very helpful in both accommodating last minute changes and sharing insights on things to do both before and after the tour started. They were helpful and great to work with from start to finish.

We had a great tour with Neal! We brought our grandparents who wanted to see the city, but can’t walk too much. They felt like they saw the whole city and loved hearing all the knowledge Neal had! Bonus, he was very funny! Neal even put a headset on to speak through the speakers so they could hear him better (he was loud enough for the younger ears, but for their sake!). I highly recommend Sean with Boston Sightseeing Tours. He was punctual and extremely easy to meet when we began our tour. He asked what we would like to know about Boston as well as covering all the stops on the Freedom Trail. He not only covered the Freedom Trail, he brought it to life. We can’t wait to visit Boston again! After our tour was over Seán texted us his recommendations for places to eat, bakery’s, and other things to see and do in Boston. He also suggested that we make reservations for supper immediately and we are so glad we did! His recommendations were spot on! They made our trip! Thank you Sean and Boston Sightseeing Tours!!

This was the perfect tour with Neil - the best tourguide we ever encountered! We were a group of four returning from a cruise and had time for a half day tour before flying home. Neil picked us and our luggage up on time at the cruise ship terminal. The communication prior to pick up was exceptional. A four hour driving/walking tour thru Boston followed with drop off at the airport. Neil has an incredible knowledgable of EVERYTHING!! And he is funny, a great driver, the dynamic and energy of our group and him was just wonderful. From stopping at his favorite bakery for tasting freshly baked cannolis, walking thru the awesome historic section to driving thru different neighborhoods covering all the famous highlight of this amazing City - the time flew by, this tour was amazing thanks to Neil. If I could I would have given it 7*'s. Thank you Neil! Christina, Elena, Maria & Jerry

TLDR; If you're looking for a tour of Boston that feels thoughtful, fun, and full of personality - especially if you're traveling solo and want to feel like you're part of something - this is the one. Ask for Crafty as your tour guide if possible! At $47 per person, the Summer Nights (pm) tour is an incredible deal to see the city on wheels and on a boat on the Charles River.(Not sponsored or incentivized)I recently took the Boston Sightseeing Summer Nights Tour, and I can't recommend it enough! It was genuinely one of the highlights of my trip. This was my first time exploring a new city alone, and I left the tour feeling included, energized, and connected - something I didn't expect but deeply appreciated. From the moment we boarded the bus, there was an atmosphere of warmth and fun. Our guide, Crafty, was incredible! He wore so many hats - driver, historian, DJ, trivia master, and all-around entertainer. He had the dad jokes, the fun facts, the city history, and perfectly timed music. His energy made the whole bus feel like a community, not just a group of strangers. I've been on tours that felt rushed or disconnected, and this was the opposite.Huge perk: Unlike some other Boston tours, this one gives you a full hour on the Charles River. I was originally going to do a Duck Boats tour, just because it's so heavily advertised, but those tours were sold out (and I came to find out give you only 20 mins or so on the river). Here's what you can expect:* Your tour guide (I hope it's Crafty) takes you on a ride through the city with trivia, stories, and photo ops* You get dropped off for a boat ride on the Charles River - the boat tour was equally impressive, because the bartender was also the guide! He was mixing drinks and giving detailed commentary on the architecture and history. The boat has bathrooms, bar with drinks and snacks, open views for amazing pictures of the cityAt around $47 per person, I thought this was an incredible deal. I would expect something this engaging and well-organized to cost more.

Neal R. filled our 4-hour "overview" tour of Boston and Cambridge with expert history and insightful present-day observations, all served up with his unique brand of humor that kept our three middle-school grandkids (14, 12, 12) and accompanying adults fully engaged. Thanks, Neal!

We had a wonderful private tour from Neal of an overview of Boston. They picked us up at the cruise port, did the tour and then dropped us at our airport hotel. The young adults/kids (ages 6-21) thought it was the best tour of our trip because Neal was entertaining while being informative. He was flexible with our group of 14.

Neal gave us a two-day tour of Boston and Cambridge. Worth every penny! He had two seniors (myself and my husband) and a 17 and 19-year old (our grandson and his friend). Despite the age differences, each one of us enjoyed the tour. And since we were in Boston during an unusual heat wave (100 degrees in June) he managed to adjust the time we spent walking versus the time he spent driving us around the city with hi comfortable van. I was the only one of us who knew Boston. In fact, I had lived in Boston (downtown, Brighton, and Brookline) for about 7 years! But I enjoyed every minute of the tour, and I learned so much that I never knew. Neal is smart, funny, and a gifted teacher - he knows how to read his audience and adapt accordingly. Both of the two boys said that it was the best trip they had ever taken. And my husband - who really didn't know Boston at all - loved it. And I loved learning about so many parts of the city. It's a great city, and Neal is the perfect guide to reveal its wonders. It's obvious that he loves the city, and his passion is contagious!

Cindy, our guide, was amazing. She was knowledgeable, funny, entertaining, and very patient with our questions. She showed us streets and alleys and told building histories that we never would have heard or thought about happening in Boston. I very much recommend the private tour, which gives you a more in-depth personable experience that is incomparable to a large group. We were able to do things that most couldn’t do and we were able to go at our own pace. We skipped the parts that we had already seen while here in Boston. And the best part I was with my two daughters, ages 17 and 14, and we requested to know more about the women in the history of Boston, which so much of the history has been reported around the famous founding fathers and fighters so often leaving out much of the story. We learned both sides, the men and their contributions to history and the women and their contributions. It was a very worthwhile and educational experience, which I hardly recommend.

Private Walking Tour on the Historic Boston Freedom Trail: Our tour guide, Neal, belongs in the pantheon of the best tour guides in the universe. Forget the silly period costumes and kitsch, and go with Neal who knows is stuff and is able to bring history to life amid history-dense, Boston. Our group of six equally rave about Neal's qualifications: knowledgable, punctual, adaptable, patient, and witty. In addition, Neal's pre-tour communications were A+ and helped to make the most out of our three-hour tour. All of us had visited Boston previously and we still learned much on this tour, all while having an enjoyable time.

We had so much fun on this tour! Neal was fantastic from start to finish, especially since he was dealing with a group of mostly "seasoned" women and one in a wheelchair. He took his time getting us from place to place, and made sure we weren't on the bumpiest streets for the wheelchair. His commentary was as delightful as it was enlightening. And, his recommendation of Modern Pastry for our cannoli stop after the tour ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. As a travel agent, I will highly recommend future clients take a tour with him in Boston because I know they'll be well looked after and have a fantastic time.

Guide, i think Gabe , was very personable and waited for the last person 10 minutes to find a place to return her bike. He knew lots of wonderful facts. Wish we had done more at the cemetery. Our tour of The Freedom Trail and Boston’s North End could not have been better. Neal’s knowledge of Boston and its history, his sense of humor, and sincere desire to deliver a bespoke experience ensured a truly memorable day for me and my wife, and our best friends, two other couples who accompanied us. Neal was great to work with both in the planning and execution of the tour. He provided great feedback on all the things I hoped to experience in our four hours with him, and offered excellent suggestions along the way, including a truly special lunch at Ben Cotto in the North End. He also helped us put together our Great Cannoli Taste Off, in which Mike’s won over Modern by the slimmest of margins. It's also worth noting that Neal went out of his way to connect with each of us, smartly adapting his style to accommodate the unique chemistry of our group. This included patiently waiting as we took yet one more ‘groupfie’ in front of some other landmark, monument, or headstone. His many years as a teacher served him and us well, especially since four of us came out of different areas of education. He did a wonderful job keeping us focused and moving, without the day ever feeling rushed. In the end, I appreciated that Neal felt much more like a fellow traveler, who enjoyed the opportunity to share with his friends the many, many things that he was proud of in his hometown. During our time together, we saw much that we had learned about when we were students, as well as much that was unique about the city, that only a resident would know of. This included a bit of the grittier and dare I say occasionally salacious details that make for great anecdotes when sharing our experience with others. I and my besties have traveled a good bit, in different parts of the world, and I like to think we know excellence when we experience it. So, returning to my days in academia, I would unreservedly give Neal an A+, and would wholeheartedly recommend him for your next visit to Boston.

Neal picked us up on time and at our place. He was outstanding. We consumed the whole four hours and then some. We did the walking tour of freedom trail where we learned quite a few items and misconceptions starting with Paul Revere house. We walked all around the north end and then went in the car and visited The USS Constitution, Bunker Hill neighborhood, Fenway Park, old North Church, and all around downtown. Neal knew alot about just about everything Boston history and building information. We had my sister in law, who was a boston resident and grew up here, indicated she did not hear anything that was not factual and learned alot. Neal was engaging, very friendly, and a retired boston school teacher. I highly recommend and would take the tour again

Knowledgeable, sophisticated, entertaining, personable, responsive, thoughtful And thorough tour of Boston. I highly recommend Neal as your guide for exploring Boston. My son (23 yr), his roommate, his roommate’s mom, and I visited Boston for a long weekend in November (all first-time visitors to Boston except for me). Neal made great recommendations during the planning that helped us pick the best use of our time and the limited time stuck in traffic. On the tour day, he conveniently picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Neal, a former teacher and Boston native, was well-prepared with a binder filled with maps, pictures, and articles, allowing us to absorb large amounts of information during the ~3-hour tour. His knowledge of the city's history, paired with his colorful storytelling, provided an enjoyable and helpful overview that helped us select spots to explore in detail later on our own. He infused the tour with anecdotes and humor seamlessly into the narrative (poking fun at the Boston accent “Hahvahd” where the “Wicked Smaaht” students go to school as we visited that area). If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and personable guide to discover Boston, Neal is an excellent choice.

I did hesitate before booking as the price was more than some other tours I saw advertised, but Neal’s reviews were so good. I’m so glad I did!

Our group of 4 had a lovely tour in Boston on Oct. 21st, 2023. He picked us up and dropped us off right in front of the cruise ship. Neal was courteous, knowledgeable, humorous and an excellent navigator around Boston. We thoroughly enjoyed his sharing of the local history - which included some enlightening information about Paul Revere! It was a great tour.
