Cancellation Policy & Trip Protection
We know that travel plans can change. Boston Sightseeing Tours offers optional Trip Protection to give you added flexibility and peace of mind when booking your tour.
Optional Trip Protection
Trip Protection may be added at the time of booking for 15% of the protected tour cost.
With Trip Protection, you may cancel your tour for any reason up until 7:00 PM Eastern Time on the day before your scheduled tour and receive a 100% refund of the protected tour amount, less any nonrefundable payment-processing fees.
No explanation, documentation, or qualifying reason is required.
A few important details:
Trip Protection must be purchased at the time of booking.
The Trip Protection fee itself is nonrefundable.
Cancellation must be received by Boston Sightseeing Tours no later than 7:00 PM Eastern Time on the day before the scheduled tour.
Cancellations received after 7:00 PM and no-shows are not eligible for a refund.
Nonrefundable third-party expenses, such as chartered vehicles, attraction tickets, admission fees, or other services purchased on your behalf, are not covered and will be deducted from any refund.
Trip Protection applies only to the portion of your reservation specifically identified as protected.
Standard Cancellation Policy
If Trip Protection is not purchased, our standard cancellation policy applies:
More than 90 days before the tour: Full refund
21–90 days before the tour: 50% refund, less transportation costs
14–21 days before the tour: 25% refund, less transportation costs
Less than 14 days before the tour: No refund
Chartered vehicles and other third-party services are also subject to the cancellation policies of the individual provider.
Force Majeure & Circumstances Beyond Your Control
Some circumstances are simply beyond anyone's control. If a tour cannot reasonably take place because of an extraordinary event outside the reasonable control of both Boston Sightseeing Tours and the guest, the normal cancellation penalties will not apply.
Examples may include severe weather or natural disasters that make the tour unsafe or impossible, government restrictions or closures, major transportation shutdowns, public-safety emergencies, or a cruise ship's cancellation or inability to make its scheduled port call.
Whenever practical, Boston Sightseeing Tours will first make reasonable efforts to reschedule, modify, or otherwise accommodate the tour.
If that is not possible, payments made to Boston Sightseeing Tours will be refunded, less any nonrefundable payment-processing fees and nonrefundable third-party expenses already incurred on the guest's behalf.
Special Considerations for Cruise Guests
If your cruise ship is unable to make its scheduled port call, this will generally be treated as a Force Majeure event.
If your ship arrives late, we will make every reasonable effort to adjust your tour around the ship's revised arrival and all-aboard time. A delayed arrival does not automatically cancel the tour. If the delay makes it impossible to provide a reasonable tour, the Force Majeure provisions above will apply.
Force Majeure does not include circumstances affecting only an individual guest or party, such as illness, flight delays or cancellations, changes in personal travel plans, traffic, or a decision not to participate because of ordinary weather conditions. These situations remain subject to our Standard Cancellation Policy or the Trip Protection terms if Trip Protection was purchased.
Book With Added Peace of Mind
Our optional Trip Protection is simple: add Trip Protection for 15% of your protected tour cost and you may cancel for any reason until 7:00 PM Eastern Time the day before your tour and receive a full refund of the protected amount, less applicable nonrefundable fees.
No doctor's notes. No qualifying reasons. No complicated claims process. Just added flexibility when your plans change.typing your content here...
